Classic Neon

Classic Neon

While most of the images I post are likely to be from Disney, SeaWorld, or Universal (I do live in Orlando, after all), I still prefer the classic amusement parks to the large theme parks in many ways. Last September I made a quick little four day trip up to Springfield, MA with my girlfriend to visit her family and go to a Red Sox vs. Yankees game (Fenway and Boston were amazing, but more on that in another post). It just so happens that there is also a Six Flags park minutes from their house, so of course the trip wouldn't be complete without a visit to Six Flags New England.

This park had been one I wanted to check out if I ever got the chance because of three coasters; Riverside Cyclone, Superman, and Batman: The Dark Knight. There was a very pleasant surprise, however, in Thunderbolt. Not only was it a surprisingly great ride, but I also noticed the awesome neon sign and was really hoping it would be dark enough before we left to get some shots of it. Luckily it was dark by about 7pm and the sign turned on. It was just as good as I thought it would be, and I went to work the best I could without my tripod. This one was the best of the bunch, and I am really glad I stuck around for this shot.

As always, thanks for looking and have a great day!
